Any Vegas Movie Studio Users (Not Pro x3)

I don't have Vegas Pro, I have only Movie Studio.

Colourings are harder, there is no masking, and there are a slew of other options not available xD

ANYWAY.

I was wondering if there were any Vegas Movie Studio users that I could ask a few questions of (if you know how to do what I want xDD).

In Vegas Pro, there's a track option called 'motion blur' and it kind of... blurs the videos on the track, it's a really cool FX (I'll see if I can find a good example of it x) ) and I just wanted to know if anybody knew a way of dupliating such an FX in Movie Studio?

I don't have Pro, but I've sort of figured out how to do motion blur, here's one MEP part that I duplicated it in a way.



How I did it was, I copied the movie and put the copy either on top or under the original, then delayed the copy a few milliseconds and brought the opacity down to where you could only see it enough to where you can see it follow the original.

Any of that make sense? If I knew how to make a tutorial, I would.

Phew! Glad you understood! When I took that part of that MEP I felt motion blur really HAD to be used, and seeing as I didn't have that lovely feature, I had to figure it out myself XD

I have Pro but an old version... so i dont have motion blur either. But i may use what you suggested ^^

@Aladdin- Thats what I have but I'm not sure it has motion blur unless I'm just missing something

@Dimitri: Yeah it doesn't have it I was gonna download the fx but it would have cost me an arm and a leg haha

@Dimitri and @Esmeralda: Actually Sony Vegas Pro.8 does have motion blur. I didn't know it did until like a month or two ago, and now I love it! You know that automatic white track that is always up? And you can move it around? Well right click, go to "insert/remove envelope" and click on "motion blur amount". Then a little purple bar will appear (like the opacity bar but I think it's on the bottom of the white track), and then the higher you bring the bar, the more motion blur there is. I think that's what you guys are talking about?

I'm not quite sure what umm automatic white track is??

@Villian: Apparently SV 8 and 9 are very similar, so I don't think it would be located under fx, I think it would be what we were just talking about. Not sure though!

I downloaded SV 8.0 back in 2008 when it was new.. since then 10.0 is now out but i swear they are so similar so i haven't bothered updating.. as long as I have masking I'm fine xDD

I updated to SV pro 10.0 a few months ago. But it could basicly the same as version 8.0, but it was so slow. So now I'm using SV pro 8.0 again xD

Yes thats what I heard... my computer is slow as it is so i'm just sticking to what i've got

can someone help me learn how to do colourings? Generally I have to do many layers of gradient maps and solid colours on tracks but.... now I have different compositing modes and other effects. 8D

Does anyone know how to make colourings like these?

I'm pretty sure the third one is a red texture over black/white clips ^^ But all the others can be made with Gradient Map ^^

I use a combination of effects... but there are some good tutorials for colourings. There is a channel the focuses on tutorials, though the footage they use as an example is often RL like movies and tv shows, so they may not work as well with animation. But i'll send the link to you when I can find it.

I just mess around with all the effects... like Gradient Map, Colour Corrector, Birghtness and Contrast, Levels, Sepia... its all just guess work really. I just play around with them all until I can find something that looks right :3

Just play around with everything, thats my advice xD
Even now I'm finding out new things, like motion blur, and I've had it around 2-3 years?
When I first started after WMM I just clicked everything 8D Probably why all my early videos were effect crazy!

In movie studio I can render HD, fullscreen no problem.


I don't know the right settings for Pro 8 to render fullscreen. I've been playing with them for like an hour. Can somebody help? Or at least point me to a tutorial. xD I can't find one that get's right to the point. @_@

Theres a blue thing in the top left hand corner of the preview screen....
Change width to 640 and height to 360. I'm not sure what to do if you've already made a video in a different size and want to render it that way.. that just changes the whole screen size so when you make a video its in that size.
Mines been automatically this size in years.... I'm sure someone will help you
